Contact your doctor, or the police if unavailable. Once the medical certificate is issued, contact a funeral director such as ourselves; John and Janet attend at any time, removing the deceased to our funeral home with the utmost care.
The death will be referred to the coroner if the doctor cannot issue the medical certificate. The coroner's officer will contact you, a post-mortem may be needed, and you can register the death following the examination and notification.
Contact the hospital after 9.30am Monday to Friday. Hospital staff will advise where and when to obtain the medical certificate of cause of death.
Care home staff will let you know when the medical certificate will be available, after which you can register the death. Let the staff know you would like Bolton's Funerals to carry out the arrangements.
